Prof Joy Schaverien, an Analyst with the SAP, was on Channel 4 on 11 April, debating whether boarding schools are damaging. She is author of “Boarding School Syndrome“.
She brought up the important points that children who have been to boarding schools, especially if sent when young, felt exiled and bereaved. Jon Snow, the interviewer, was clearly affected, as he talked about his mother crying when he went back to school.
